Mark Baker

President & Chief Operating Officer

Mark was named president and chief operating officer in October 2008, and oversees all business units and operating functions at ScottsMiracle-Gro. Those include the North America and International consumer business units, along with the Company’s Global Technologies and Operations function, which is comprised of ScottsMiracle-Gro’s Supply Chain, Research & Development and Global Business Information Services.

He also serves on the Company’s 12-member Board of Directors, a position he has held since 2004.

Prior to coming to ScottsMiracle-Gro, Mark was most recently president and chief executive officer of Gander Mountain Company, a nationwide network of outdoor equipment and apparel stores, a position he began in 2002. He was also named the company’s president in 2004. Additionally, Mark was an executive with The Home Depot from 1996 to 2001, serving in various positions, including regional president, chief merchandising officer and chief operating officer.

Mark earned his bachelor’s degree in geography at the University of Minnesota.
