Mike Kelty, Ph.D

Executive Vice President

Mike was named executive vice president in October 2008, when he rejoined the Company after a brief retirement. Mike supports the Chief Operating Officer in the execution of key corporate initiatives.

From May 2001 until his retirement in November 2005, Mike was vice chairman and executive vice president.

He joined ScottsMiracle-Gro in 1979 as manager of regulatory and government affairs. Mike has held a variety of senior leadership positions with the Company in Research & Development, Technology & Operations and the Professional Business Group.

Mike received his bachelor’s degree in biology/chemistry from John Carroll University and completed his Ph.D. in biological sciences at The Ohio State University. Prior to joining ScottsMiracle-Gro, he was an assistant professor of Biology at Cleveland State University.
